Dear Miguel,

My name is Mari O'Reilly.  Our cousin Luis Lopez forwarded me your most recent painting.  My sister Rosi Orozco has had frequent contact with you and has told me lots about you and how we are related.

I viewed your gallery and found all of your work extraordinary.  My favorite was "8:30 AM".  It really captured my soul, remembering the solemn feeling I had inside me on 9/11.

I live in L.A. married and blessed with two wonderful children.  I have a beautiful daughter named Sabrina who is 10, and a gorgeous son who is 8 named Michael.  I named him Michael after my beloved grandfather "Miguel A. Tio".

Both my children attend art school here in L.A.  Sabrina loves to draw. She has not stopped drawing since the first day that I introduced her to a crayon.

Recently, I was involved in a fundraiser, where  Sabrina wanted to donate one of her paintings for the silent auction.  I wasn't sure if anyone would really appreciate it or how good it actually was.  Since I'm her mom anything she draws is beautiful to me!  Nevertheless, I got the painting mounted and framed to make a nice presentation, and needless to say people bid on it back and forth and it her innocent 11x12 pastel drawing named "Tropical Nights" sold for $375.  This little girl was on top of the world when I came home to tell her.

At the art school they attend they frequently have exhibitions and contests.  Sabrina always gets her paintings sold.  Most recently she entered a contest through the Mexican Consulate.  She was one of 15 winners among over 1,000 that participated throughout the world.  I am forwarding the link so that you can view.

Aprecio mucho sus comentarios en el libro de visitas. No es necesario ser sabedor de arte para recibir el mensaje que con imágenes que una obra de arte trata de entregar al observador, lo único que se necesita es sensibilidad…Y veo que usted la tiene.

Mi abuelo era cubano también y se llamaba Ramón Tió Lapuente. Nunca pude conocer la familia por parte de mi abuelo, pues la mayoría vivían en Cuba. Se que todos los Tiós provienen de una familia originaria en España que se estableció en el Caribe.
No hace mucho tuve la dicha de conocer gracias al Internet a algunos miembros de la familia Tió que viven en California, y que después de investigar resulta que mi abuelo y el abuelo de la persona que me contacto (mi prima Rosemary) eran hermanos de padre (Félix Tió Ramos). Mi abuelo era hijo del segundo matrimonio.
